Bat Fit

So, The Professor over at her blog had decided to start a movement.

An awesome movement.

Seriously, it's that cool.

And no, I'm not over-exaggerating or being rude, because Bat Fit is truly awesome.

What in the World is Bat Fit? How Did it Start?

Bat Fit is quite simply a health and fitness "movement" that embraces the idea of total physical, mental and emotional health, and is followed primarily by Goths, Punks, and other people who align themselves with alternative scenes.

I have been meaning to lose some weight, and I have been for quite some time. Being 23 (almost 24, yikes!), unfit and depressed, I feel like such a fake. I usually have a huge smile on my face, ready to laugh and make others laugh, but in reality, I think I would be 10 times happier if I were "fit," not "thin, skinny, or bony," but "fit" (and I need to work on my self-esteem). I have a huge problem with being lazy and unmotivated, plus a sport-related accident messed up my knee, so when I had heard about Bat Fit, I decided to actually pursue it in 2013. I have family and friends backing me up, so I feel that even if I lose 40 pounds, hell, that's better than nothing.

So, what exactly will I be doing to try to lose weight? The Professor lists some great ideas on the tab, plus she will be coming up with ideas on her blog. I will definitely be coming up with the food journal (and I suggest you do too, in case you decide to be a healthier "you" this year) and start a workout regime (yoga, the Zumba Wii game, Wii Fit...basically whatever my knee will tolerate).

She also has this list on the tab from last year, but I think I'll mention it here, since some (if not all) are great:

1. Keep a health and food journal.
2. Dance your ass off! ;]
3. Good and Bad Habits: Get rid of a bad habit and replace it with a good habit.
4. Be good to yourself.
5. Brag-fest.
6. Try a new vegetable or vegetable preparation.
7. Conquer your fears...*meep!*
8. Get outside!
9. Guest Challenge by Tenebris in Lux: Listen to Your Body.
10. Guest Challege by Pensive Pumpkin: Running and "Just Do It!"
11. Guest Challenge by Marcy: "Buddy Up!"
12. Taking measure
13. Sam (Bat Fit Facebook Member) says "Drink More Water!"

So, who's with me? Join Bat Fit 2013.

You'll be glad you did :]
